FTIR spectroscopy and IR detection for teaching and research
With SweebIR, students measure like scientists – on an FTIR spectrometer we developed ourselves, from the pyroelectric detector and the interferometer to the evaluation software.

Rooted in research
WiredSense was founded in Hamburg in 2018 by scientists. Our starting point was pyroelectric infrared detectors – MPY-01, MPY-RS and SPY have since been used in research labs worldwide, including laser diagnostics and spectroscopy.
SweebIR applies this detector technology in a compact FTIR spectrometer. Detector, interferometer, electronics and software come from one team – questions on measurement principle, raw data or specifications are answered directly by the developers.

Lab courses and lectures
With the diamond ATR, students measure solids, powders, liquids and films without sample preparation – no KBr pellets, no cuvettes, no alignment. The price allows several instruments per lab course, so every group measures itself.
Spectra are stored in the FIDES platform and can be exported as CSV for your own evaluation, e.g. in Python, MATLAB or Origin.
FTIR at the bench
For fast characterisation of synthesis products and materials directly in the research group, without waiting for the central instrument. Raw data remain unaltered and exportable; API access is available for automated evaluation.
FIDES*Mix lets you build quantitative models for mixtures – €39 per month as the first add-on package, cancellable monthly.
Pyroelectric detectors
Broadband LiTaO₃ detectors with integrated amplifier. The usable spectral range is determined solely by the window: KBr, CsI, Si, PTFE, HDPE or diamond – from UV to the THz range. Pyroelectric detectors respond to changes in intensity; continuous-wave sources must be chopped.
